EDF confirmed the man died in a “traffic construction incident” this morning (Sunday 13 November). All work at the site of the new nuclear power station has been suspended and an investigation has been launched by Avon and Somerset Police and Health and Safety. The energy company said: “It is with great regret that we can confirm that one of our team was involved in a fatal road accident this morning during scheduled work. “The incident is being investigated by the Police and the Health & Safety Executive and we will co-operate fully with the authorities. “Work on site has stopped and we are offering support to colleagues affected by this tragic event. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
