Environment Canada said people in Montreal and Quebec, as well as other areas in the St. Lawrence, will see 5 to 10 inches of snow from Wednesday morning into the evening. The system that will dust Quebec is making its way north from Texas. “For higher elevations in the eastern cities and Beauce areas, snowfall amounts could reach 20cm. However, as temperatures will be near freezing and the system’s track remains somewhat uncertain, these amounts may change until Wednesday,” the weather service announced Monday. Environment Canada is urging motorists to adjust their driving to road conditions as the weather changes. The forecast for Wednesday in Montreal calls for a high of 1C and a low of -1C. On Sept. Ills, Environment Canada data showed 12 centimeters of snow fell Saturday as a result of Tropical Storm Nicole, according to data released Sunday by Environment Canada. Snow warnings were also issued for many areas of the North Shore and Lower St. Lawrence on Monday, including Matane, Minganie, Rimouski and Mont-Joli. With files from The Canadian Press
