Manitoulin OPP tweeted at 8:30 p.m. that investigators were at the scene of a deadly collision in an area off Panache Lake Road. There are two roads to Lake Panache – one in the Whitefish area leading to Penage Bay Marina, the other accessing the western end of Panache from Espanola. The collision on Saturday involved an all-terrain vehicle traveling in an old railway bed passing through the Espanola area, according to a source. Carlo Berardi, a spokesman for the North East OPP, said more information would be provided Monday. The OPP usually recognizes the deceased in a car accident, but only the closest relatives are notified once.
