Terrell Cooks, 37, and Seneca Mahan, 43, both from North City, are charged with second-degree murder, endangering a child’s well-being and illegal possession of a firearm. Authorities say Cooks and Mahan were making fireworks in the garage of a house at 6600 Parker Road. The garage exploded early Friday morning. The bodies of William Jones, 21, and Demario Cooks, 18, were found in the rubble. Christopher Jones, 17, was taken to hospital, where he later died. Travell Eason, 16, also died in the blast. A 12-year-old resident of the house was slightly injured. Police told News 4 that both suspects admitted to making fireworks with explosives that exceeded the limit set by state law and that they had the victims help them. None of the suspects was licensed to make fireworks. The two are also accused of selling fireworks. During a search of Cooks’s car and his home, police say they found fireworks and materials used to make them. Both defendants are being held on $ 350,000 bail in cash only. Copyright 2022 KMOV.
