The shooting was reported at 3:32 p.m. at the Target store on LaCienega and Obama avenues, according to Officer A. Delatorre of the Los Angeles Police Department Operations Center. The two victims were sitting in a car when a man got into another vehicle and fired multiple bullets at them and fled, Delatorre said. Rescuers rushed the two victims to a hospital, where the teen died, he said. Detectives told reporters at the scene that the 23-year-old co-driver was driving the 17-year-old boy in the front seat and that there were four people in the back seat of the car, including two 4-year-olds. The shooting is believed to be gang-related, Delatorre said.
