On Monday afternoon, a spokesman confirmed that the incident was fatal. They said: “Two people were unfortunately killed as a result of the crash. “Their families are supported by specially trained officers.” There is a complete road closure on the A65 motorway and at the Bentham Moor Road junction. Many emergency vehicles were sent to the scene. Credit: Twitter / @ bezberesford Thomas Beresford, who was at the scene, said dozens of emergency vehicles were present. An ambulance turned and took off from the spot. The Aviation Accident Investigation Department was informed. A spokesman said: “We have been notified of an accident near Burton in Lonsdale, North Yorkshire, involving a light helicopter. “An investigation has been launched and a team of inspectors is traveling to the scene of the accident to begin an investigation.” The police thanked the residents of the area for their cooperation.
