Tropical Depression Nicole put a damper on NASA and SpaceX’s plans to launch its 26th commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station, forcing it to move the date back to November 21. SpaceX, led by billionaire and new Twitter owner Elon Musk, originally aimed to launch the Dragon cargo spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Nov. 18, but its arrival now Tropical Depression Nicole, has space agencies looking at a date no earlier than November 21. NICOLE LEAVES OVER 330,000 CUSTOMERS WITHOUT POWER It has been blamed for the deaths of at least two people, according to Fox Weather, who were electrocuted when they came across a downed power line in Orlando. The storm brought strong waves along Florida’s east coast that caused significant erosion and led to the collapse of many buildings. In fact, a NOAA tide gauge in Port Canaveral, Florida recorded a rise of 3.6 above average high tide on Thursday morning. SPACEX AIMS TO LAUNCH MASS STARSHIP INTO ORBIT BY EARLY DECEMBER: REPORT As of Thursday night, the center of the tropical cyclone was located 40 miles southeast of Tallahassee, Florida, and had sustained winds of 40 mph. As the storm moves north, NASA and SpaceX can begin preparations for their resupply mission later this month. The payload will include a lunar microscope, which NASA said is a portable hand-held microscope that allows astronauts to collect a blood sample and take images that can be sent to surgeons on the ground to diagnose diseases. Dragon will also send new science experiments, supplies and equipment for the crew, including a study on growing dwarf tomatoes in space. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE ABOUT FOX BUSINESS
