According to the warning, the temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will range from medium to low 30 degrees, without much relief at night.
In Toronto, temperatures are expected to rise to about 29 degrees on Tuesday, while the temperature will reach 34 degrees with humidity. Environment Canada also warns that the UV Index will be around 10 or “very high”.
On Wednesday the temperature will be similar, with a high temperature of 33 degrees Celsius and a 40 percent chance of rain.
Environment Canada says cooler weather is expected by Thursday.
“Hot and humid air can also cause air quality to deteriorate and may result in the air quality health index approaching the high-risk category,” the warning said.
“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.”
They warn that residents should not leave small children or pets in cars and that outdoor workers should take regular breaks in cool places.
