The resolution adopted on Monday calls on Russia to pay reparations for damage and loss of life during the conflict. In his nightly video address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: “Reparations that Russia will have to pay … are now part of the international legal reality.” But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russia stood “categorically against” the proposal, adding that Moscow would do “everything possible” to prevent the West from seizing its frozen international reserves or “loot” to pay for reparations in Ukraine. In total, 94 of the 193 members of the assembly voted in favor of the resolution on Monday. Fourteen voted against and 73 states abstained. The resolution said Russia “must bear the legal consequences of all its internationally illegal acts, including reparation for injury, including any damage, caused by such acts.” Here is the breakdown of the voting countries of the General Assembly:
