Supply RTX 4080

According to Tom, RTX 4080 inventory is less than RTX 4090. A source says that there may not be any more restock of the GPU this year. Another source claims that the initial RTX 4080 offer is “about half” compared to the RTX 4090, which is in line with the previous rumor of 20-40% less offer over the flagship Lovelace card. A different source goes so far as to suggest that the RTX 4080 offer is “ridiculous” as the nationwide inventory is “nothing” compared to previous generation versions. However, availability is not as dry as RTX 30 “Ampere” boards. So you might be able to get one if you’re quick and lucky enough. While most of Tom’s insiders claim that there are no RTX 4080 consumables for the rest of 2022, one source hints that there is a possibility of new stock near the release of the RDNA 3 GPUs.

Stock RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX

The Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX are AMD’s first RDNA 3 GPUs. The boards will be available for sale starting December 13th for $899 and $999 respectively. If the latest details from Tom are true, Team Red’s cards will be much easier to purchase than Team Green’s offerings. A retail source claims that, according to AMD, “we’ll get a lot of RX 7900 XTX supply in December. Many of these will also be with the reasonably sized reference cooler.” Furthermore, the release numbers of the newer AMD boards could be more than the RTX 4090, as the initial 3-6 weeks are rumored to be long in terms of inventory. In short, if you want a next-gen GPU, it might be wise to wait until mid-December and see what the RX 7900 cards bring to the table.
