The nuggets were in high gear tonight (November 15) on The Great British Bake Off as Syabira Yusoff was revealed to be the winner of the 2022 series. Undoubtedly a fan favorite of the competition, Syabira beat the finalist’s friends Sandro and Abdul to the coveted award, winning over the judges with her ‘weird’ Showstopper orangutan sculpture. After the show’s final Showstopper challenge, where all three bakers impressed with their flavors but disappointed with their presentation, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith announced Syabira as the final Star Baker of 2022. Channel 4 “I can’t believe it,” he said. “It’s unbelievable, this is the biggest achievement of my life. All the hard work, all the trial and error, it’s all worth it. I’m very, very proud.” “I’m coming out as a new person after this competition. I’ve become more confident and I trust my instincts,” she added. The baker then dedicated her win to “the girls”, saying it’s been a while since a woman won the show: “So here you go girls I’m here I’ve got one for you all we can do anything we just want to put our whole heart and work for it.” Channel 4 “Syabira can be a little risky with her flavors and she has succeeded,” said Judge Paul. “She’s an incredible baker.” “I’m so proud of Syabira, she deserved it. She’s this queen of flavors, she totally deserves this, I’m so happy for her,” Sandro added of her win. Before the big win was announced, the bakers kicked off with the Signature challenge where they had a summer picnic that celebrated the planet and a devastating technical challenge saw the bakers create flat summer pudding bombs. The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it is known as The Great British Baking Show and is streamed on Netflix.
