The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m. near the Harry Rosen store and a Tim Horton’s in the mall, located on Balzac, just north of Calgary.
The wall collapsed with a loud bang, sending terrified shoppers running.
A woman and her grandchild were hit by a makeshift wall, leaving the family shaken and distraught as they recovered from the shock of the incident inside a Coach store.
No information is available on whether or not they were injured.
The baby’s mother was nearby and was not hit, but she was shaking afterwards.
No Tim Hortons employees were injured in the incident.
CrossIron marketing director Joel Tatlow said a (temporary) wall collapsed at 1:40 p.m.
“Rockyview Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene. There were no injuries. A woman and a child were evaluated and extricated. At 3 p.m., Occupational Safety cleared the scene for cleanup.
“The safety and security of staff, customers and tenants is a top priority and we are taking proactive security measures to provide a safe experience at CrossIron Mills,” added Tatlow.  “We have a highly trained security staff and appreciate their diligent response to this incident.”

Airdrie RCMP officers are on scene investigating the incident.
