Apple has previewed iOS 16, the next major iPhone software release at its 2022 developer conference.

IOS 16 will be released this fall on iPhone 8 and later. It is packed with important updates such as the ability to customize the lock screen, frequently requested tools such as the ability to edit and “unsubscribe” iMessage texts, and important utilities such as viewing and restricting access to the site, and your passwords. Apple iOS 16 will bring several improvements that focus on easier communication, personalization and privacy. A preview of the company’s annual WWDC talk show, the new updates to iMessage, the iPhone lock screen and Apple Wallet will bring significant changes to iOS when it finally launches to the public this fall. For now, the beta version for iOS 16 developers has been released so far, with a public beta coming out in July. When iOS 16 is released widely, it will probably arrive along with the much rumored iPhone 14. The new software will work on iPhone 8 and newer models. Edit and “send” messages

“Annoying typographical errors are a thing of the past,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, as he introduced three of the most sought-after features in the Messages application. Initially, in iOS 16 you will be able to edit the sent messages. So if you notice a typo after a message, you will be able to edit the message afterwards. A tiny “edit” appears in the status below the message. In Messages, you can edit previously sent messages. apple Then, and this may be my favorite new feature, you can immediately recall a sent message. If you accidentally send an incomplete message, you can use the Undo Send tool to prevent it from being read, and hopefully you’ll look less chaotic to your friends and family. Finally, you can mark messages and threads as unread. This could be a great tool for when you do not have time to reply to a message right now but want to make sure you return to it later. A new customizable lock screen

One of the things you see most about your iPhone is the lock screen, especially if you have an iPhone with Face ID. IOS 16 brings the most substantial update to the iPhone lock screen so far. Press and hold to edit the lock screen. You can scan to try many different styles. Each style changes the color filter for the background photo and the font on the lock screen so that everything is complementary. This is a bit like Apple’s view of Google’s Material You, which started with Android 12. You can also customize the fonts for the time and date, and add lock screen widgets such as temperature, activity rings, and a calendar. The graphics are similar to the complications on the Apple Watch lock screen. Your iPhone will be more adaptable to iOS 16. You will be able to choose what the lock screen will look like, down to the font and color. apple You can even set up multiple custom lock screens with different widgets and easily slide to switch between them. There is even a photo play option that automatically changes the images on the lock screen. One feature we hoped to see Apple add was an always-on screen. It’s something that almost all Android phones have. even the Apple Watch does. There is hope that it will be released with the iPhone 14. IOS 16 adds a feature that developers can use called Live Activities. This is essentially a mini-view of the real-time progress of a workout, sporting event or Uber track from your iPhone lock screen. apple

Alerts and live activities

Notifications can sometimes cover the lock screen photo, so iOS 16 moves the notifications to the bottom of your screen. As you receive them, instead of being listed, they appear as a vertical carousel. Not only does this look better, but it should be a great help for using your iPhone with one hand. IOS 16 also aims to solve another notification problem. Sometimes you get multiple notifications in a row from one app, such as the score of a basketball game. A new tool for developers called Live Activities makes it easy to keep track of what is happening in real time from the lock screen, instead of taking a series of breaks. Live Activities should make it easy to watch sporting events, workouts or even the progress of an Uber track.

Ignore CAPTCHA using private access tokens

CAPTCHA – which stands for Fully Automated Public Turing Test to distinguish between computers and humans – was a necessary evil on the internet. They are designed to ensure that a person has access to a site or service rather than a bot. They are also annoying, as they often involve reading letters with strange letters or the need to find all the pictures that a truck has. With iOS 16, Apple wants to replace these awkward interactions with Private Access Tokens. According to a video on Apple’s website that reveals privacy secrets, sites that support the badge will actually link and certify that you are truly human without having to play any of the usual CAPTCHA games. Apple says in the video that the company is working with other companies to develop support for this feature, so we can not say for sure that CAPTCHA will be dead after the release of iOS 16 to the public. But the idea could offer some relief if adopted.

Wallet and Apple Pay Later

Identity cards from multiple states will be available in your Wallet app along with more security and privacy features. In iOS 16 you can also protect your identity and age. Therefore, instead of showing your exact date of birth, the Wallet app will display your identity and that you are over 21 years old. IOS 16 makes it easy to share keys with apps like Mail and Messaging. When your friend receives the key, they can add it to the Wallet app on their iPhone. Apple said it is working to ensure that shared keys are an industry standard and free for others. The Wallet app on iOS 16 receives a number of small but worthwhile updates, including the Apple Pay Later payment plan. apple Apple Pay will support new payment types and add a new feature called Apple Pay Later, a Klarna-like service that lets you split the cost of an Apple Pay purchase into four equal payments over six weeks, with zero interest and free of charge. Upcoming payments are managed through the Wallet application, making it easy to track dates and payments. But Apple Pay does not stop there. A new feature will also help you track Apple Pay orders and allow merchants to provide detailed receipts and tracking information.
