Photo: Contributed Police had to close Beaver Lake Road for several hours Sunday afternoon. A man living on the road running east of Lake Chora tells Castanet that he was driving on a dirt road Sunday afternoon when he crashed into police officers in the process of developing a seven-kilometer spike. Evan Tozer said it was a “large police presence” involving tactical officers. “We were told to come back because there was an incident with the police, they said, ‘It’s a firearm call and we came back right away,’” Tozer said. The RCMP confirmed that the Emergency Response Team had been sent to report a man in danger. “Members temporarily closed the area to ensure public safety and were able to resolve the situation peacefully,” said RCMP spokesman Sergeant Kevin Duggan. Tozer said he noticed a large accumulation of vehicles coming down the road, which had apparently been stuck behind police action after the incident. “All the trailers and everything that will be released for the weekend on Sunday,” Tozer said.
