Critter Manley Many fans have been excited about God of War Ragnarok to such an extent that they spent a lot of money on the Collector’s Edition of the game, a giant chest with a bunch of extras including Thor’s hammer. However, something apparently happened with shipping where a large number of these collector’s editions don’t have the game at all. While you’re not supposed to get a physical collector’s edition disc, you’re supposed to get a steelbook case and a download code for the game inside it. While all the other would-be dads are there, this case and code are missing, meaning those players can’t play at all. Sometimes it’s just the code that’s missing. Those I’ve spoken to say Sony’s customer service isn’t terribly helpful and hope to look into the matter more. It must be frustrating to look forward to a release like this for four years, then be stuck after paying a ton of money for the best version of it. All they really need is to be issued download codes, but it’s unclear how long that might take. I’ve seen more than a few people posting about this online, but it’s unclear how many may be affected by the issue. It’s definitely weird, and not something you see often for a big release like this. God of War Ragnarok recently had some trouble with retailers breaking the street date a week early, and those copies led to a ton of videos being posted online ahead of release, spoiling many important story moments. But now that the game has been released, Sony is hoping that it could be on its way to breaking a record for a PlayStation exclusive, but we haven’t gotten any accurate information on how it will perform yet, as it’s too early. As for this current issue with collector’s editions, we hope it gets resolved soon, because otherwise, there are a lot of die-hard fans whose only solution is to buy another copy of the game in the interim when they’ve already paid so much. Hopefully Sony Santa Monica and PlayStation will take notice and fix this quickly. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
