The New York Times initially reported that the couple was splitting up, saying they had spoken to two people who knew the decision. They would only speak anonymously to discuss a personal matter, the newspaper reported. Murdoch and his first wife, Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant with whom he had a daughter, divorced in 1966. Mrs. Hall, 65, is officially married to Murdoch for the first time. During their previous 22-year relationship with the Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger, the couple married in Bali, but the 1990 ceremony was not legally binding. They have four children together.
