Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Game Freak’s new monster collecting and battling RPG coming out on November 18th for Nintendo Switch, has already started leaking online. I mean, someone has streamed the entire game, so be careful with spoilers if you’re into that sort of thing. But one aspect of these games that people are now enamored with—well, actually thirsty—is the third evolution of the Quaxly water launcher, which is a bipedal bird, so the internet can’t get enough of it. Part of the ninth generation of creatures, Quaxly is one of the three initial Pokémon you can choose at the start of your adventure in Scarlet and Violet. The white duckling has already won the hearts of the internet when it was revealed on February 27, with its blue hair and enchanting blue eyes that make people blush. But now that the game has been leaked, people are getting a glimpse of Quaxly’s developments as well. And while the duck’s second form, Quaxwell, is just as cute, it’s the last form, Quaquaval, that everyone is looking for. No seriously, the internet really wants to give it to Quaquaval. “[Quaquaval’s] no Twerkey, but I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for pecking seeds,” commenter SeymourDemonica said in a popular post on the PokeLeaks subreddit. “Bro, because it’s double-checked on Thursday,” another Redditor said in the same post, later adding an edit to clarify that Quaquaval still has a “great plan, though.” G/O Media may receive a commission Get 50% off your two-week trial. Veterinary Nutritionist-backed food—for your dog. Just as you feel better when you eat better, your pup will enjoy a shinier coat and more energy over time. “I’m literally a lesbian and somehow I’m not as gay as this duck,” said another, with another replying that “the entire LGBTQA+ community is not as gay as this duck.” These sentiments are being shared online, with people in utter disbelief at the amount of flour in Quaquaval’s cake. Terrible joke, but you get it! From his cheeky antics to his aggressive battle stance, this peacock of a bird is imposing, and Pokémon fans love it. So much so that there are already fan art and memes of it. For all the looks everyone has for Quaquaval, my favorite comments come from this popular PokeLeaks post. Some have asked why she “has all that ass”, while others are shocked by how much the bird serves and kills. But the best, hands down, is a RuPaul’s Drag Race spoof, trading Trinity Taylor’s lyrics on the season 9 remix track “Category Is…” for references to Pokémon and Quaquaval. It’s amazing: “My name is Quaquaval and don’t you see? I have many feathered parts inside me. Claws, and beaks, and little claws, too. Others hate, but they don’t disapprove of me! This skill I have? They simply cannot replace! Even with ability patches on my face. It’s time to earn 100k EXP, do you think you can beat me? GIRL PLEASE!” As Redditor Clasitav said in that PokeLeaks post, the RuPaul’s Drag Race/Pokémon overlap is “strong and powerful.” As a huge fan of the reality competition series, I expect to see some of the queens play as Pokémon at some point here. Oh wait, it already happened. Tight.
