Mr Adebowale, who is also president of the NHS Confederation, told Times Radio: “A full-scale war in Ukraine will have an impact on what my members experience. “The crisis of the cost of living will continue, along with the other atrocities that are in store for us at the moment. “It seems that there will be a long, protracted war. We know that eventually there must be a settlement. “We know that Russia seems to be at war – probably a very mild word – and we must be prepared for the worst, and I suspect that the mistake we made in the past is not prepared for the worst. “Well, I hope the British boots do not come to Ukrainian soil, because there are all sorts of consequences for that as well. “But we should all be concerned about the consequences for the people living in this country of a long, protracted war in Ukraine, as well as for the Ukrainians, of course, who will be supported by all right-minded people in their fight against what is tyranny at the end of the day “.
