Pakistan’s government has blocked the nationwide screening of “Joyland,” the first Pakistani film to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, just a week before it was due to hit theaters in the South Asian country. “Joyland” tells a love story between the youngest son of “a happily patriarchal joint family” and a transgender starlet he meets after sneaking into an erotic dance theater, according to a synopsis on the Cannes Film Festival website....

The provinces and territories have joined in calling on the federal government to increase its share of health care costs from 22 per cent to 35 per cent. Police: 4 University of Idaho students found dead on campus 00:22 Police are investigating the deaths of four University of Idaho students who were found Sunday in a home near campus. Officers with the Moscow Police Department discovered the deaths when they responded to a report of an unconscious person shortly before noon, according to a news release from the city. Police described the deaths as suspicious homicides, which generally means the killing of one person by another, although the term does not necessarily indicate that the death was intended or committed in a criminal manner....

The helicopter landed on Route 17 near Mount Blair, said Deputy Director Sonia Porter. The highlands in the southern part of the state are known as Kelly Hollow. Mrs Porter was unsure what might have caused the crash. “At the time of the accident, I think the weather was clear,” he said.
