Aufgrund der drohenden Gasknappheit wird das stillgelegte Steinkohlekraftwerk Mellach in der Steiermark wieder in Betrieb genommen, um im Ernstfall Strom und Wärme aus Kohle wieder zu gewinnen. Das sagte Energieministerin Leonore Gewessler (Grüne) auf „ZiB 2 am Sonntag“. Das Kraftwerk war das letzte Kohlekraftwerk Österreichs, im Frühjahr 2020 wurde dort zuletzt Strom aus Kohle erzeugt. Der Umbau wird laut Gewessler Monate dauern. Die SPÖ wertet dies als Akt der Verzweiflung von Umweltministerin Leonore Gewessler (Grüne)....

Hauna Pyper was charged with the murder of Darren McNally in 2020. Pyper (43), of Primity Terrace in the city, had a four-year relationship with the victim. During the two-week trial, held at Coleraine Crown Court, evidence was presented to the court that Pyper was the victim of prolonged domestic violence. Mr McNally (46) was stabbed as he lay in bed at her home on June 8, 2020. He had suffered a single stab wound to the back that had punctured a lung....

Hondan Hassi died after a bloody brawl at LIT nightclub just before 3am on November 5. Saskatoon police say the incident involved another woman known to them. Paige Theriault-Fisher, 22, was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
