The historic OK Falls Hotel could finally be back up and running in the near future after the property was officially sold Wednesday. Garry Peters and his firm Avery Group bought the property, located at 1045 Main Street, for $2.8 million. They are also the owners of the old Weyerhaeuser mill, which was converted into a light industrial park after its purchase in 2020. His daughter, Rachel Peters, who is a native of the area, told Castanet they will spend the next four to six months renovating the property and getting it up and running. “It’s a big deal…This is a key part of the revitalization of Okanagan Falls,” he said. “We are excited to continue investing in the community.” They are also currently looking for an operator who can run the restaurant’s pub and cafe. The hotel has been closed in recent years and was previously ordered to cease operations by the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.
