#Oilers forward Evander Kane has been placed on LTIR and is expected to miss 3-4 months. Mattias Janmark & Klim Kostin recalled from the @Condors. We wish Evander the best in his recovery process. pic.twitter.com/FrDZnplPvp — Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) November 9, 2022 Players can be placed on LTIR if their injury results in them missing either 10 consecutive NHL games and 24 consecutive days in the NHL season. Teams are allowed to go over the salary cap by a certain amount, depending on the injured person’s salary cap hit. In Kane’s absence from the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL, forwards Klim Kostin and Mattias Janmark appear. Kostin was acquired shortly before the start of the season by the St. Louis Blues in exchange for defenseman Dmitry Samorukov. In nine games with the Condors this season, Kostin has two goals and four points along with 15 penalty minutes. The No. 31 overall pick from the 2017 NHL Draft has five goals and 11 points in 46 career games with the Blues. Janmark signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Oilers in free agency in July. He ended up on waivers because the Oilers couldn’t afford to fit him under the salary cap. Janmark was cleared off waivers but did not join the Condors for a few weeks due to an immigration issue. Through four games this season, the 29-year-old has two goals and four points. Janmark has scored 66 goals and 158 points in 420 NHL games during his career.
