Photo: Kelowna RCMP UPDATE: 15:35 An elderly woman accidentally hit the accelerator while trying to park at Kelowna’s Orchard Plaza Wednesday morning and plowed through a real estate office. The crash happened just after 11 a.m., causing “significant damage” to the building, according to RCMP. Photos from the scene show the woman’s silver Subaru came to rest inside a desk. Fortunately, no one was injured in the collision. “This could easily have resulted in injury or worse, we are thankful the only damage was to the vehicle and the building,” said Const. Mike Della-Paolera of the Kelowna RCMP. “The police investigation showed that the driver was sober and very remorseful for what happened.” Const. A silver SUV drove right through the front windows of a real estate office located at 1890 Cooper Rd. shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday. An eyewitness tells Castanet that he came to the scene immediately after the incident, “I pulled over and saw the ambulance pull up and then I wandered around and took some pictures.” The eyewitness asked to remain anonymous and could not be sure if there were any serious injuries as a result of the collision.
