NL Hydro is offering more information about a brief but widespread power outage this morning. Hydro describes the outage as a “significant event”. The company says Maritime Link was down after scheduled exports to Nova Scotia, resulting in what it calls “significant power fluctuations.” This caused an Under Frequency Load drop across the system resulting in a short power outage. The system has since been stabilized. Hydro is investigating the original causes of the outage.
