The water was near the bottom of Mission Creek Bridge on KLO Street on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. The water level rises again at Mission Creek in Kelowna. The BC River Forecast Center issued a new high flow alert on Sunday morning. Local rainfall falls from Saturday night. The River Forecast Center says the automated snow station in Mission Creek had accumulated 25 millimeters of rainfall by Sunday morning, and creeks in the creek near East Kelowna Station began to rise again. From 9:15 a.m. the flows were 58 cubic meters per second. Upstream of Pearson Creek, the creek rises rapidly. It flowed at 11.4 m3 / s. While rainfall levels are lower than last week’s storm, the river forecast center says flows have remained relatively high since peaking Monday night, so we are likely to see a steady rise from the lowest rainfall today. Mission Creek was expected to peak at noon on Sunday. The advice comes amid a massive search for a missing woman believed to be strolling her dog near Mission Creek on Tuesday. On Sunday, her search was halted due to bad weather and exhaustion by search and rescue volunteers. The public is warned to stay away from fast flowing rivers, creeks and streams during the high flow period. The river forecast center will continue to monitor the situation.
