Excerpts have been revealed ahead of the full interview being played, in which Ronaldo gave explosive answers about his situation at United. When asked if the United hierarchy were trying to force him out of the club, Ronaldo said: “Yes, not just the manager, but two or three other guys from the club. I felt betrayed.” When asked again if the club’s senior management were trying to push him out, Ronaldo replied: “I don’t care. People need to hear the truth. “Yes, I felt betrayed and I felt that some people don’t want me here, not only this year, but also last year.” Ronaldo wanted to leave United in the summer but did not get his desired exit. His relationship has only deteriorated as the season has progressed and he refused to come on as a substitute against Tottenham in October. In the interview with Morgan, Ronaldo – who returned to United in 2021 – also said he had no respect for boss Ten Haag and accused the club of failing to show progress since his first spell at Old Trafford. He said of Ten Haag: “I don’t respect him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t respect me, I will never respect you.” GETTY Ronaldo has just one Premier League goal this season and may now have played his last game for Manchester United On the club’s lack of success since 2013, he said: “I don’t know what’s going on, but since Sir Alex Ferguson left I haven’t seen any development at the club, zero progress. “For example, we have an interesting point that how the club as Manchester United, after (they fire) Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer), they buy – they bring in the sporting director Ralf Rangnick, which nobody understands. “This guy isn’t even a coach. A bigger club like Manchester United bringing in (a) sporting director – it surprised not only me but the whole world, you know. “Nothing has changed. Surprisingly. Not only the pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym… Even some places, the technology, the kitchen, the chefs, who are, I appreciate, wonderful people. “They stopped in a year, which surprised me a lot. I thought I would see different things… different, as I mentioned, technology, infrastructure. “But unfortunately we see a lot of things that I used to see when I was 20, 21, 23 years old. So, I was very surprised.”
