UPDATE 9:05 p.m RCMP confirm the crash claimed one life. Shortly after noon, Vernon North Okanagan RCMP received a call from someone traveling on Mabel Lake Road when they encountered a vehicle that appeared to have gone off the road and into a ditch. The caller said they found an unresponsive person inside the vehicle in the Ashton Creek area. Despite the efforts of frontline officers, the Enderby Fire Department and BC Emergency Health Service crews who responded to the scene, the man inside the vehicle could not be revived. He was pronounced dead on the spot. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision. No further information will be released pending notification of next of kin. UPDATE 4:33 p.m According to BC Emergency Health Services, a call came in around noon for a car-vehicle incident in the 1300 block of Mabel lake Road in Ashton Creek. Two ambulances and a helicopter responded. Paramedics did not take patients to the hospital. ORIGINAL 2:45 p.m An ambulance was reportedly called to the scene of a serious crash on Mabel Lake Road on Wednesday. According to reader reports, the crash happened this afternoon, east of Enderby. Few details are available, but there are reports of police, fire and ambulances at the scene. Recent posts on social media complained of frost on the road.
