The London Ambulance Service said it was called to an address in Brookside South on Tuesday afternoon. They went along with the London Air Ambulance and found a woman and a child who were both stabbed. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Of course she is a mother and daughter. A 37-year-old man believed to have been known to the victims has been arrested on suspicion of murder, the force said. The death of the woman and child on the residential road left people in the area feeling scared and left a neighbor crying. Rummana Chowdhury, 37, said: “I do not know them, it’s definitely very sad, it’s a shame. I can not believe it, it is unbelievable. “It’s scary and sad too because this morning everything was fine and all of a sudden it happened.” Becky, 39, who was crying at the police station, said of her neighbors: “My God, it’s just shocking, it really is. “I am a mother of two girls, of a similar age (with the child victim), they have never played but they have met again. “I cried so much, especially earlier when I heard a child was involved, it was devastating.” Chief Superintendent Sarah Leach, Police Chief for the Northwest, including Barnett, said: “The whole community will be shocked and saddened to hear of this horrific incident. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman and child who died, as well as with the police and paramedics who arrived first in an incredibly provocative scene. “Detective experts are working to find out what happened and a man is in custody. While keeping an open mind as to what happened, I would like to assure the locals that there is nothing to show, at this stage, that anyone else is involved in this incident. “I will urge anyone who has seen or heard anything unusual earlier today or in recent days to come and talk to the police. “Your information could be vital as the research progresses.” Information can be given to the police by calling 101 with the reference number 3590 / 21JUN.
