The victims are believed to be a mother and daughter and were known to the detainee, the Metropolitan Police said. Officers were called to Brookside South at 1:37 p.m. today. Ambulances and an Air Ambulance were also mobilized. They found the woman, 37 years old, and the girl with knife wounds and their death was confirmed at the scene. A 37-year-old man has also been arrested and the Met Special Crimes Directorate is investigating. Chief Inspector Sara Leach described it as “an incredibly challenging scene” for the first to respond. “Detective experts are working to find out what happened and a man is in custody,” he said. “While keeping an open mind as to what happened, I would like to assure the locals that there is nothing to show, at this stage, that anyone else is involved in this incident. “I will urge anyone who saw or heard anything unusual earlier today or in the last few days to come and talk to the police.
