An unidentified man is accused of attacking Louisville Mayor Greg Fisher at a retail store on Saturday.
Police have released photos of the man, but have not yet been identified. However, Fisher, a Democrat, was not injured in the attack.
“Earlier this afternoon, while on Fourth Street Live, Mayor Fisher was punched by a man. The mayor is doing well,” the Louisville Police Department said in a statement.
“The LMPD is investigating and will provide more information as soon as it becomes available,” police added.

Police asked anyone with information about the suspect to contact an anonymous information line at 502-574-5673.

It is not clear if there was a quarrel that led to Saturday’s attack.

Fischer has reached the end of his term and will be replaced in an election later this year. Democratic nominee Craig Greenberg, who is running to replace him, was also attacked earlier this year.
