The suspect accused of killing two California police officers during an exchange of gunfire on Tuesday night committed suicide after allegedly shooting the couple of police officers. Justin William Flores, 35, allegedly killed two Mount, California. police while responding to reports of a knife in a motel. When officers, Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana approached the suspect, there was an exchange of gunfire and the two officers were shot. They were later pronounced dead at a Los Angeles area hospital. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office found that Flores committed suicide as a result of a shot to the head, according to his website. The sentence is in line with the policies of Los Angeles Attorney General George Gascon, who was taken to court to handle three strike strikes. Flores was a member of a gang that was being tested at the time of the shooting for a weapons charge, after receiving a lenient sentence through an objection agreement. Gascona’s policy allowed Flores not to be challenged and given a light sentence, despite the fact that the strike was on his criminal record. (City of El Monte) Sources in the district attorney’s office told Fox News that Flores would likely have been sentenced to up to three years in prison if prosecuted in February 2021. Gascon’s office told Fox News that Flores did not have a “documented history of violence” when he was convicted.
