Los Angeles police reportedly set up a line of skirmish early Sunday as a noisy crowd of young people making donuts in the streets threw fireworks and other objects at police trying to clear the area. CBS News reported that a crowd fired fireworks and threw stones and bottles at LAPD officers in the Boyle Heights neighborhood. Shots from a Sky 9 helicopter over East 4th and Anderson in Los Angeles showed a road full of LAPD vehicles, some with flashing red and blue lights, as well as other private vehicles. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that people were also targeting officers with lasers, and the LAPD set up a skirmish. At least one person, not an officer, was injured and injured in the head. The crowd eventually dispersed and the area was declared safe, Cruz added, adding that he had no immediate information that fireworks or other missiles had been fired at police officers at the scene.
