The fire quickly burned at least an acre as it was powered by a medium to heavy brush, officials said. The Coyote fire was first reported around 9:30 p.m. at 3600 N Barham Boulevard, above a dog park near the Ava Apartments complex. At least four helicopters dropping water helped fight the fire from the air. Los Angeles County Fire Department crews also participated in the fire department as part of mutual assistance. At one point, the fire began to burn toward Coyote Canyon and further away from any structures, according to the LAFD. No evacuation orders were issued and no damage was done to houses. No injuries were reported. Garages will remain in the area overnight to extinguish any hot spots. The causes of the fire are being investigated. Copyright © 2022 KABC Television, LLC.
