A 30-year-old kite surfer died Saturday night in Villers-sur-Mer off the coast of Normandy in France when he was blown out of a restaurant window by a sudden gust of wind. The strong storms treated five people together with the kite surfer who lost their lives from a collision of the building on the beach. The winds lasted 20-25 minutes on the Côte Fleurie (Flower Coast) between Ouistreham and Deauville. This unexpected weather phenomenon was not announced by the Météo-France, the organization that monitors the weather. “It blew more and more violently and ended with a mini tornado,” Granturco told franceinfo on Sunday. “We had a contact with Météo France, who had informed us that they were not able to predict such a mini tornado.” He added: “We knew there would be strong winds, they were announced at the end of the night, or even at night, but we did not think it would be so violent.”
