Photo: CTV News Kellogg Co., maker of Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies and Eggo, will split into three or three companies focusing on cereals, snacks and plant foods. Kellogg’s, which also owns MorningStar Farms, the plant-based food company, said Tuesday that the unnamed cereal and vegetable companies’ spinoff should be completed by the end of next year. The company’s corporate headquarters will be relocated from Michigan Battle Creek to Chicago, but will maintain double headquarters in both cities for the snack company, which accounts for about 80% of current sales. Kellogg’s three international headquarters in Europe, Latin America and AMEA will remain at their current locations. Companies are starting to split at an accelerating pace, including General Electric, IBM and Johnson & Johnson, but such splits are rarer for food producers. The last major split in the sector was in 2012, when Kraft split to form Mondelez.
