Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs won Arizona’s governor’s race, defeating Trump-endorsed Cary Lake, according to projections from the Associated Press and major news networks Monday night. Ms. Hobbs currently leads by more than 30,000 votes after ballots from Pima and Maricopa counties were processed Monday night. While election officials continue to verify and count the remaining ballots, Ms. Lake has continued to reinforce false claims about the election process and baselessly question its legitimacy. “We can no longer be the laughing stock of the election here in Arizona. And, when I am governor, I will not allow it. I just won’t do it,” he told Fox News on Sunday. Meanwhile, an Arizona police laboratory confirmed it found nothing in a folder Ms Lake’s campaign claimed was sent to their headquarters in early November and contained a “suspicious white powder”.
