Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake had a musical break during a press conference Tuesday, telling reporters she’s “standing up for the people of Arizona” while YG’s song featuring Nipsey Hussle “FDT (‘F*** Donald Trump ‘)’ was blasted. loudly behind her. While in Phoenix, Ms. Lake attacked the ongoing voting machine issues reported by Maricopa County and expressed her bewilderment at the situation. “I woke up this morning and within minutes of the opening of the polls I started calling people. Voters in tears, calling my personal numbers, saying “What’s going on? Labelers don’t work. They told me to put my ballot in a box and they would drive it downtown to the county,” he told reporters before suggesting something more insidious was going on behind the scenes. Ms. Lake lamented that Arizona’s liberal precincts had “zero problems with their machines today” and that “not one machine is spitting out a ballot here.” In particular, Ms. Lake is one of several Republicans who have repeated and supported former President Donald Trump’s baseless claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. During one particularly comical scene, Ms Lake was heard telling reporters she was “standing up for the people of Arizona” and “standing up for our children” while “FDT (‘F*** Donald Trump’)” played in a car who was passing me by. The song made her words almost unintelligible. After a CBS News reporter asked the politician a question she had previously answered, she responded with a verbal attack. “Are you new to covering this race? Because we’ve said it before. I answered this question. I’m not just going to be governor of Arizona for four years, I’m going to serve two terms,” he said, before issuing a rather ominous warning. “I’ll be your worst nightmare for eight years and we’ll reform the media too. We’re going to make you journalists again, so get ready. It’s going to be a fun eight years. I look forward to working with you.” The former news anchor is running against Katie Hobbs, Arizona’s Democratic secretary of state.
