By Stephanie Swensrude WE MOVE TO TREAT ALS 20 June 2022 | 5:58 a.m. KAMLOOPS – A total of $ 40,000 was raised for ALS research following the annual Move to Cure ALS fundraiser in Kamloops and Merritt on Saturday (June 18th). It’s partly thanks to a team of key volunteers who have been working with the ALS Society of BC for almost two decades, according to Wendy Toyer, executive director of the ALS Society of BC “I travel all over British Columbia, especially this month, attending various events, and every time I fly to Kamloops or drive to Kamloops, I really feel like I’m coming home,” Toyer said. “We have over 30 dedicated volunteers who have been working with us for the past 18 years and continue to do so, to offer our programs, raise awareness and raise funds.” Tara Lyster was the co-organizer of the fundraiser.
