According to iOS 16 beta 2 release notes, the update allows iCloud backups through a mobile network for all users. Previously, iCloud backup was only available over Wi-Fi and supported 5G networks – but that required your mobile carrier to give you that option. Here’s what Apple says: Backup New features in iOS & iPadOS 16 beta 2: Customers using iOS 16 can now back up their device via LTE mobile connection as well as 5G or Wi-Fi connection. (95276719) In addition to iCloud backup support via LTE and 5G, iOS 16 brings many other new features, such as a redesigned graphical lock screen, enhanced focus mode, iMessage enhancements, passwords and more. For now, iOS 16 beta 2 remains available to developers only. According to Apple, the first public beta will be released in July, while the official release is expected this fall.
