By Friday morning, the risk of freezing rain diminishes and the rain is expected to taper off. A special weather statement is also in effect for the area. Heavy rainfall can cause flash flooding and pooling of water on roads. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Total rainfall accumulations from 20 to 50 mm. 2 to 5 cm ice pellet accumulation potential. Weather: Freezing rain and ice pellets are expected late this morning or early this afternoon through Friday morning. Rain expected early this morning. Discussion: A developing low pressure system is expected to bring a large area of ​​mixed precipitation to parts of northern Ontario today through Friday. Precipitation is expected to change from rain to a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets later this morning or early this afternoon.
