WEATHER RECOGNITION ENVIRONMENT CANADA ******************** A special weather statement is in effect for:

Agawa – Lake Superior Park Wawa – Pukaskwa Park White River – Dubreuilville

Hazardous wintry precipitation possible Thursday through Friday.

Hazards: Possible accumulation of 2 to 5 cm ice pellets. Ice accumulation of 5 to 10 mm possible due to extended period of freezing rain. Total rainfall accumulations from 20 to 50 mm. Time: Thursday morning to Friday afternoon. Discussion: A developing low pressure system is expected to bring a large area of mixed precipitation to parts of northern Ontario Thursday into Friday. Precipitation is expected to change from rain to a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets Thursday afternoon. The rain is then expected to change to mostly snow Friday morning. There is still some uncertainty as to the exact path of this low pressure system and as a result the overall accumulation of ice and ice globule accumulations. Winter weather travel warnings or freezing rain warnings may be issued as the event approaches. Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots can become icy and slippery. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and take an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first aid kit and a flashlight.
