GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert was trailing in her re-election bid in Colorado as Republicans reckoned with bleaker-than-expected midterm results.
Bobert faces Democrat Adam Fries, a businessman and former city councilman, in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
Data from polling partner Insider Decision Desk HQ showed Boebert narrowly behind around 8 a.m. ET.
Frisch had 50.88% of the vote compared to Boebert’s 49.12%, with 89% of the vote counted:
Voters first elected Boebert in 2020. The representative from Rifle, Colorado, has used her position to be a thorn in the side of the Democratic Party. Since taking public office, he has denied the results of the 2020 presidential election, interrupted President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address and defamed a Democratic member of Congress about his religion.
Two years later, her antics may have cost her a job, as she is close to joining the ranks of Rep. Madison Cawthorn as one of the few members of Congress up for election in 2020, but lost her re-election bid after a office tenure only.
