Toronto police said it happened in a parking lot near McCowan Street and Milner Avenue, north of Highway 401.
Duty Insp. Paul Krawczyk said police arrived and found three men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to Toronto paramedics, one of the victims suffered serious life-threatening injuries, two others suffered serious injuries and a fourth man was slightly injured.
Krawczyk noted that they have no suspicious information at this time, but said the shooter or shooters may have left the area in a white or light Honda Civic.
“It was a tiring day in Toronto, obviously, for events like this. And it’s very worrying for us,” he said.
Police are looking to talk to anyone who attended the car meeting and witnessed the incident. Krawczyk said many people were in the parking lot at the time of the shooting.
“There were a lot of nice, high-end cars here, which I think probably have shots from the dashboard. And we’m asking anyone who has this video camera to give it to the police or if they want to remain anonymous read Crime Stoppers at 222- TIPS (8477) », he said
Police have cordoned off the entire parking lot as they collect evidence.
“You can see some signs of some white vehicles there. I think there was at least one of the (shots) fired there,” Krawcyzk said. “Obviously we have some (of) the victims’ cars here as well, which have now gone to the hospital.”
“We will do our best to have a successful completion of this research,” he added.
Shooting in Scarborough was the fourth in the city on Sunday. Earlier in the day, police responded to three separate shootings over a two-hour period that left one man dead and three seriously injured, including two teenagers.
Police also did not release any suspicious information about these incidents.
