The UHaul with Harry inside was spotted Monday night on Mills Road. UPDATE 5:00 p.m. Harry has been identified. Diamond H Tack posted on their Facebook page a picture of UHaul, with the stolen fiberglass horse inside. It was seen on Monday night around 5:30 p.m. on Mills Road, behind Bed Bath and Beyond. The truck then left the area around 7 p.m. The photograph was clear enough to identify truck number DC 2372 L. Anyone watching UHaul or Harry is invited to call the RCMP. UPDATE: 11:15 a.m. Diamond H Tack co-owner Heather Robson is asking anyone who may have been there since Harry was stolen to check the video on the dashboard and let police know if he has recorded anything that could help the investigation. Robson said he has been a symbol in our community for the past 26 years, not just outside their store, but watching 4-H events and parades. “One of my family friends had it and brought it to us in a horse trailer in 1995. It’s an authentic Prewitt horse made of fiberglass from the 1970s. So, he is not young, but he is a strong little “, he adds that he was wearing a blanket and a horse halter when he was stolen. He said staff at a nearby business saw UHaul pass by, but did not understand what was happening. “As they were going back, he thought they were bringing us a tradition, but they were taking the horse.” The officer identified the suspects as two women. One was leaner, the other heavier. Robson begs people working in the area to check their cameras. He hopes the video could help identify the license plate number on the truck. ORIGINAL 9:48 a.m. Harry the horse has been stolen in a brazen theft in broad daylight. The owners hope the public can help get him back. Harry, a 26-year-old light brown appaloosa with a white herd and spots on it, has been in front of the Diamond H Tack on Kirschner Road for almost three decades. Until yesterday, when the thieves driving a U-Haul van left with the fiberglass mascot just before closing at about 4:50 p.m. Monday. Surveillance video in the area shows a U-Haul getting up in front of the company, loading the horse in and moving away. One of the thieves was wearing a red shirt and black shorts, while the driver appeared to be wearing a black shirt and light pants or shorts. They escaped into a back alley between BC Sportswear and Princess Auto. Harry is a life-size horse, standing about five feet high on four wheels and mounted on a brown steel frame. He wore a white blanket with a small blue checkered pattern (Kool Koat detachable neck) and a blue halter rope. Photo: Contributed
