Rob Gibson RCMP officers are never completely off duty. This video was taken by the family of Kelowna RCMP Const. Nickel last week as he jumped into action in Lake Country. “Last week a Kelowna RCMP officer proved that the police are always on duty and protecting their communities,” says a press release from the Kelowna RCMP. The video shows Const. Nickel, who was enjoying his day off with his family, when he sprang into action after seeing a co-worker in a difficult situation with an uncooperative suspect. When Nickel noticed the problem, he parked his vehicle, secured his family, then ran up the hill to help subdue an agitated suspect. “Fortunately, Constable Nickel was in the area and was able to assist, going above and beyond to assist a fellow officer,” says Sergeant Desmond Kiehlbauch. “The video was provided by a fellow officer after they heard about his action.”
