Nathan Robert Jason Ward was identified by family members as the victim. “It’s very devastating for our family. Nathan persevered through many hard battles in his life and it’s very, very tragic that he was taken from us the way he was,” his niece Alyssa told CTV News. Police responded to the shooting in the 0 to 100 block of Falconridge Place NE around 7:30 Saturday morning. They found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the spot. The Calgary Police Service (CPS) believes the fatal shooting suspect was involved in another Remembrance Day shooting in Castleridge that left a man in critical condition. Taylor Roan, 25, of Calgary, was arrested in connection with Friday’s shooting, police said Sunday. “The investigation into both incidents remains active. We ask the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or people in the Castleridge and Falconridge areas to the police,” CPS said in a statement. Ward’s friends and family are demanding justice. “You destroyed an entire family. So what’s up with you? My home was never violent to anyone. He always loved his family and his children,” said Michael Dove, a friend of Ward’s. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
