Education Lab engagement journalist Major crime detectives from the Everett Police Department are investigating a shooting that left two men dead and another hospitalized Monday. Police are still working to locate the suspect, who according to police fled before his arrival. Police responded to a house on Lexington Avenue in 2000 after reports of gunfire shortly after 4 p.m. and found a man in his 40s suffering from gunshot wounds to the door. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for treatment. Police found two other men with gunshot wounds not reacting inside the house. Authorities tried to rescue the men, who were also in their 40s, but were found dead. Officer Kerby Duncan said police are still investigating the links between the three men and are gathering identifying information about the suspect. No further information on the shootings was immediately available. Major crime detectives are also investigating a shooting Sunday morning that erupted in a parking lot on Colby Avenue and 44th Southeast Street. A man about 30 years old was seriously injured but is stable. “We have our share of shots, but having so many shots close is unnatural,” Duncan said. Police ask anyone with shooting information to call the Everett Police Advice Line at 425-257-8450 or Puget Sound Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
