Environment Canada has issued a special statement for Ottawa and surrounding areas. The weather service said “significant rainfall is possible from the remnants of Hurricane Nicole” from the evening of Friday, November 11 through the morning of Saturday, November 12. Environment Canada said 30 to 50 millimeters of rain is expected, and flooding and pools of water may occur on roads from heavy rainfall. “The remnants of Hurricane Nicole are expected to track into southern Ontario arriving in the region Friday afternoon,” Environment Canada said. “Heavy rainfall is expected to result in 30 to 50mm of rain with the highest amounts falling on Friday night. Rain is expected to reduce to scattered showers on Saturday morning.
