As winter begins to settle in the Okanagan, Dynamic Tattoo Studios is preparing to launch its Christmas Toy Drive, a way for Kelowna to give to those less fortunate this holiday season. Josh Evans, the general manager at Dynamic Tattoo, tells Castanet that the pandemic has been tough on everyone and that the studio is in a position to give back this Christmas. “Obviously, it’s been a pretty tough few years for a lot of people with everything that’s going on in this world,” Evans said. “You’ve seen the price of gas, you’ve seen the price of goods and services go up.” “We know times are tough and for us here at Dynamic Studios, one of our core values is to give back to the community and help in any way we can.” From November 23rd through December 23rd, Dynamic Tattoo Studios will accept in-store donations for every new boxed game valued at $20 or more for families in need. Each game you donate will get you two entry tickets to win 1 of three prizes: $1,500 Gift Card to Dynamic Tattoo Studios 2. $250 Gift Card to Dynamic Tattoo Studios 3. $120 towards your next tattoo at Dynamic “We’ll be picking winners not just for the gift card recipients, but especially for the families who are going to receive these toy donations to try and make it a special Christmas they otherwise thought they’d never have.” Evans added. The tattoo shop is encouraging its customers and community to spread the word and donate whatever they can afford to make the holidays special for as many struggling families as possible. “We hope that we will be able to help more than one family. We want the community to come together and help everyone. If we can collect enough gifts to give away, then who knows, maybe we can help 1, 2, 3, 4 or maybe five families. It all depends on what the community can bring to the table,” Evans told Castanet. To nominate a family you think is deserving this holiday season, Dynamic Studios wants people to participate via email by sending a short name and description of the family of your choice, as well as why they’re recommended [email protected] Dynamic Tattoo Studious will not accept families sharing on social media platforms as they do not want this fundraiser to bring negative attention to a family in need. “Without our amazing and supportive community and the people who live here who always look out for each other and have each other’s backs, we wouldn’t be able to achieve any level of impact for the families we want to help. I want to have as many people as possible contribute. Let’s help each other,” Evans said.
