The M4 heading west is closed from about 3.18 p.m. Wednesday from J21 (M48 Severn Bridge – England Side) to J23 (M48 Severn Bridge – Wales Side) due to a fire in a truck that has been extinguished The Inrix traffic monitoring service posted at 4:45 pm: “Congestion on J19 M32 (Bristol) and also on approach M49. “The fire has been extinguished and the contents of the trucks are under control. The road remains closed after a truck caught fire earlier in the middle of the Prince of Wales Bridge heading to Wales.” There is a diversion via the M48 Severn Bridge, where there are already queues for road works and delays are “getting worse” according to Inrix.
